The first Lie we Believe about Church and the Truth we must now Believe!

Full Disclosure: I am the quintessential church boy! I was born and raised in the church and for my whole life I served in different capacities in the church.

At the end of 2018 however, God re-introduced Himself to me and Re-Defined the extent of His grace to me. Perhaps the most fundamental shift occurred when God revealed the true meaning of His church to me. Who or what is the church? This simple truth has transformed me fundamentally and I believe God will reveal himself to you differently as you read.

For God to use you to your fullest capacity, some false beliefs about Him and His church have to be destroyed. (John 2:19) The truth is believing wrongly, leads to a uncertain faith which produces ineffective christianity. Once we fix our belief-system, we boost our faith and become effective and fruit-bearing Christians! Praise God!

Understandably, these untruths are deeply rooted in the heart and minds of Christians and will only require God to unwind them and fill us with His truth.

Caveat

This is not an attack on churches. I bear no animosity towards a church or churches.

These devotionals/teachings confront the false beliefs we have about church and repositions us, Christians, as the true dwelling place of God!

Lie #1

1. The physical church or institution is the house of God! God is the church and the church is God! The physical Church or institution is "The body of Christ." The symbol of God on earth. As a result, the church was pure, holy, and sacred.

God can live in me too, but that is just metaphorical or symbolic. The true church was the house of God.

Truth #1

The church as an organization is not is the house of God. God abandoned physical houses a long time ago. (2 Chron. 7:20) This was confirmed by Stephen, an early Christian martyr, a few minutes before his death, "The Most High does not dwell in temples made with hands." (Acts 7:48)

God does not dwell in brick and mortar temples. God has relocated!

Through faith in Christ Jesus "Your body is now the Temple of God!" Hallelujah! (1 Cor 3:16, 1 Cor 6:19, John 14:23)

You, (the person) are the Temple of God! And "the glory of God in this new Temple is greater than the former temple." (Hab 2:9). Hallelujah!

If you are the new Temple of God, then you are holy, pure, and sacred. As the temple of God, diseases of the mind and body has no place in you! And you have every right to drive out diseases from your body as Jesus drove sellers out of the old temple!

God living in you is not metaphorical, nor a Christian cliché. You are emphatically, undeniable the physical address of God on earth! Everyone who comes into contact with you must experience an aspect of God! Praise God!

The body of Christ is not a church, a denomination or a collection of churches or denominations. Infact, heaven has no registry of churches or denominations. Rather, the body of Christ is a collection of individuals who believe in the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. When these individuals come together regardless of their nationalilty, race, church or denomination, we see the body of Christ in action.

Today, God wants you to shred the old beliefs you hold about Church, and embrace the understanding that you are the true Church, the real house of God, and the undisputable body of Christ!

Once you believe it, start walking in that understanding and watch God transform every aspect of your life! God will be under obligation to align your whole life to His perfect will!
